Seam Of Life is a one woman shop specializing in sustainably made / one of a kind hemp + merino wool active lifestyle apparel. Small batch functional fashion designed with adventure in mind. Made from scratch + built to last.
I strive to create unique, high grade garments to express ones individual style, while using the most durable, organic fabrics and dyes throughout my entire process. Seam Of Life is a one woman shop - which means I design, cut, sew, dye, test, and ship every piece! My hand dyed colors are derived from all natural, sustainably sourced raw plants and extracts of the highest quality available. The plant dye process is an ancient art and involves cooking down raw plants to extract color and dye the fabric. Plant dyes are true living color! I offer select colors that are the most cost/resource effective, as well as colorfast and lightfast for bold, vibrant, long lasting, LIVING COLOR. My color recipes are tried and tested.
All garments are constructed of hemp/organic cotton fabric blends, merino wool and sometimes in combination with salvaged scraps of Pendleton wool or other up cycled fabric. Hemp is hands down the most durable natural fiber! Merino wool is the ultimate technical fiber - it's key for active comfort and layering with its quick dry properties combined with its high warmth to weight ratio. I proudly source ZQ certified merino wool from New Zealand, which is the global standard for sustainable wool. It is the most eco-friendly and durable merino wool available in the world. If you are familiar with other high end merino clothing such as Smartwool, Mons Royale, or Icebreaker - then you already know the quality of ZQ merino fibers. I also source deadstock merino wool blends - which are leftovers from large companies that either over order, or fabric mills that over produce. Instead of these excess fibers going to the landfill or incinerator - I utilize large companies leftovers!
Quality always over quantity.
